Giverny

We spent the night in the city of Giverny so that we could get an early start to Monet’s home the next morning! (It was a really nice little hotel that used to be a small castle of King Leopold.) Monet’s home and gardens at Giverny was everything and more than I thought it would be. A lot of the flowers were in bloom, and it was a beautiful day. I probably could have sat on one of the benches by the lily pond and done nothing but look at it and ponder all day. It truly was moving and unreal to think that this is where the magical mind of Monet went to work nearly every day. Additionally, the souvenir shop had anything and everything Monet, from t-shirts to mugs to puzzles to change purses. Everything!
