On tuesday we left the Louws and went to spend some time with another brother Edward and his wife Christine and their 2 little girls Alannah and Imogen.

Bruny Island is a 30 minute ferry ride away from the south east coast of Tasmania. It is a beautiful quiet island with nice beaches, and good fishing. Kynan was most impressed when he caught a shark!!Janelle also caught 2 flatheads and a squid. The squid was busy taking a bite out of the flathead and would not let go of its dinner and so shortened its own life. The beak of a squid looks amazingly like a parrot beak and equally hard!!

Kynan caught a shark!

We had a great time beach bumming and relaxing and the kids badly needed to catch up on some school.

Bruny island is divided into a north and south island Which are joined by a narrow piece called the Neck. At this point there is a peguin rookery which we explored one night. We saw a few smaller penguins but waited in vain for the rest to roll up onto the beach. We had been waiting for about 3 hours and the little once were getting very restless so we left. The penguins probably showed up the minute we left!
