Blasting down the coast to Brisbane

Well, I arrived in BrisVegas from Cairns midday (as it is known to be built up and apparently has lots of casinos). I had booked a hostel that claimed it was only '50 meters to the beach' and being a sucker from Canada - I passed on a more convenient downtown location for a spot out in the 'burbs. Well, the 'beach' was a marina. Sweet. I was pretty choked as I hadn't been to a beach in Australia yet. Note to self: Brisbane doesn't have beaches. But, the city itself was just a city. I did see a nice sunset on the water and enjoyed the full moon. But, killing a day in a big city was annoying as I was eager to get to the beach with my limited time left. Off to Surfers Paradise for the beach...
