Osnabrueck often got refer to as the Peace Town for the negotiation that ended 30 years of war took place there. And just recently, it was voted as the happiest place in Germany by a local German magazine. Unfortunately, I wasn't really got the chance to really treasure the happiness. The awkward weather on 2006's December in Germanyt has arised a gloomy ambience at almost everyday. It wasn't snowing yet (there's no white xmas this year, kid) while the temperature is freezing enough for a tropical girl like me and it was heavily cloudy everyday.

The city itself wasn't that small actually considering it is the third largest city in Lower Saxony. However, the people are laid back and low profile, with people bicycling everywhere (even in that heavy, heavy wind!) and not to forget one of what it's famous for, the student city. Despite all the better and cleaner environment, I could really relate Osnabrueck to my hometown city in Indonesia, Bandung.

And just recently, it was voted as the happiest place in Germany by a local German magazine.

There were more than enough amount of interesting spots to visit to. My favourite was a bridge over a river, which dumbly I happened to forget asking what the name is. The surroundings of the bridge was so serene and beautiful (pls refer to the picture). In case you'd like to visit the spot, you may ask to people for the bridge that is near the Witch Alley, located right behind a one big church.

However, you won't be running out of interesting place to see. Even the raadhouse of the city is beautiful and worth to visit!
