Back on the mainland - East Railay Beach

Well I have to say that I think East Railay Beach is highly overrated. Basically it is a mixture of low end budget hotels mixed in with some high end all inclusives everlooking a dirty, polluted mangrove swamp. However, once you walk through the high end places to the other side of the penninsula you come upon West Railay Beach and it is truly beautiful. Still you clearly need big bucks to stay there. Not on this trip I am afraid. I stayed at Rapala Hotel in East Railay for 500 baht a night. Not worth it but that seems to be the price you have to pay to be here. The whole plave is filled with under 30 year olds. Not very inspired I decided to go to bed early and read. I think I will head back to Krabi tomorrow morning.
