we thought that best way to start our trip was by spending two weeks in the appartment that we had bought in the bulgarian ski resort of bansko. Unfortunately there was a distinct lack of snow but this left plenty of time for reading books about south america!
when we weren't boarding on the ice fields and tree stumps we spent our time feasting on cheap bulgarian delicacies like a meaty battenburg cake made of chicken and pork with cheese instead of icing and drinking some very nice wine. bulgaria cleary exports its rubbish wine to england and keeps the nice stuff, very sensible.
