20 Countries - (I know it says 19, but I count Zanzibar as I had to buy a VISA and they stamped my passport!)

288 Days of travel

22 Flights

128 Beds

1 Pair of Sunglasses ($4.99 from Pharma Plus and could | lose or break them?NO!)

2 Pairs of Boots

2 Pairs of smelly sneakers

1 police Bribe

Thousands of E-mails - Thank You Everyone

Many, Many Long Distance Phone Calls - Once again Thank You Everyone

1 New Love - Niall!

and 1 mantra from the a lady influenced me more than she will ever know and who passed on way too soon...."Live Like Your Hair Is On Fire"  -  Linda Brown

I had the opportunity to catch up with relatives, new and old...

Lyn, Pat and Ben and Ivor in New Zealand

Sara & Co. in England

Brian, Marilyn and Ollie in Scotland

Wyn and David in South Africa

I also had the pleasure of some familiar company and some new friends on my travels...

Peter and Brigida Westaway in Wanaka, New Zealand

Emily in Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic and Germany

Sandy in France

Kim in London and Portugal

Kathleen in Egypt

Julie and Angie in Bath

And I made many new friends along the way.....

Andrea in Alice Springs, Australia

Regula in Oensingen, Switzerland

Pippuri in Finland, and

The whole Morrocan Clan....

If I had to choose, my most favorite country would have to be New Zealand, second Laos and third Switzerland

If I had to choose, my most favorite cities were Melbourne, Australia and Cape Town, South Africa

If I had to choose, my favorite accomodation was Casa San Gabriel, Perugia, Tuscany, Italy

Things I have learned along the way....

There is always another bus, plane, etc...relax and enjoy!

Every country deserves one "contribution" learn from it and move on! (a contribution is when you get taken for or pay more for something)

It always takes longer to get there than to get back!

Occasionally couples dress alike, not always a good idea...couples take heed!

You do not have to speak the language to communicate - Emily Betteridge

People are extremely kind and generous, be one of them!

I know I have said it to you all and earlier in the blog, but Thank You to Everyone for making the trek these past 10 months right along with me!  It was an extra ordinary treat to have you all there with me, occasionally in body, but always in spirit.

I have to thank Angie for putting the idea in my head, my work for giving me the time, my family and friends for giving me their love and courage to do it.

I am at Heathrow right now heading home for Christmas.  I look forward to seeing you all at some point in the future!

Love Always Sara xo

It sounds like you had a great time. It was interesting following you on your journey. As you know i was envious but i have rugrats to look after. I hope they will try something like this before they settle down. Great to have you back. I wonder where your next adventure will take you. Now its back to reality for a while.
