yesterday we arrived back in the capital of ecuador and our least favorite city in south america, quito.  we as of today have one day left, and are itching to get on a plane and go home to sweet sweet california.

we are once again staying in the mariscal area in the new city north of the city center.  we found a rad hotel with cable and have pretty much just been hunkering down there.  it rains every day in the afternoon really hard and cold, with big thunder and lightning strikes which are entertaining unless you find yourself walking around when it starts, as we did today.  im soaked.  oh well.

all we did yesterday was eat and watch tv, but when we were eating we met four local guys who kept buying us beer and had a three hour long conversation about politics, soccer, and whatever else came up on the 3 for 2 beer deal at the indian restaurant we were eating at.  it was fun, but tiring. a moment of cultural exchange, ill call it.

today we are just sitting around in the rain trying to pass time until our plane flight tomorrow.  ive also uploaded the rest of the pictures.  another final to go along with our last bus ride yesterday and our last day and night in south america today.

anyways, we{ll be seeing some of you soon and some of you sooner.  see you in winter.
