We'd heard alot about how great Buenos Aires was and we couldn't believe it would live up to the hype. Pretty quickly we realised it was a really cool place. For starts we had a proper 5 star hostel in a beautiful old building right in the centre of the city. We had great fun exploring the different areas of the city- from music and tango in the streets, beautiful parks and architecture, a fascinating cemetery and a real European feel to the city. Once again great food at fantastic prices and as it was our last week in South America we splurged and went to what is considered one of Argentina's best restaurants- Tomo 1. We had a fabulous meal and we say splurged but it only cost 15 pounds each for a three course meal with wine!

We got tickets to go to Personal Fest - a music festival with Black Eyed Peas headlining, and Madness second on the bill. It was unlike any festival at home as it had a real family friendly crowd, it was a really small venue and most shocking of all was the fact they didn't serve alcohol! Pepsi and one mineral water brand had it all tied up. The upside to the festival was the porter-loos were much more bearable. Black Eyed Peas were brilliant, sadly Madness seemed a bit like they were just going through the motions (and had had a few pre show drinks). It was surreal seeing thousands of Argentinians going crazy to "Baggy Trousers".

We also went to a tango show and Dave and I decide it all looked quite easy as we enjoyed our third glass of complimentary wine. All in all Buenos Aires was a great place to spend our last few days in South America and we tried to make the most of it as we knew we'd miss it alot.
