So I came to Split for some R&R.  Now one would think who needs R&R when they are traveling the world for 6 months!  Well, let me tell you it can be exhausting to travel!

So I didnt actually stay in Split. I stayed in a small town called Podstrana that is nearby.  Well actually, I stayed in a resort near Podstrana and basically never left the casino, jacuzzi, infinity pool and beautiufl sunsets!

Could have been trouble, but I ended up winning 300 Euro! Thats 400 bones!

I did go into Split one evening for about 4 hours.  I called Iryna and also tried to fix my memory card, which broke.  Yup, I lost all my pictures from Munich, Berlin, Brussles, and Budapest.  I was really pissed.  But now I m over it. You can be sure of this because I am continuing my blog.  I was about to end it.

So the resort was exactly what the Dr. ordered. They had a Casino and I played Roulette 4 out of 5 nights.  Could have been trouble, but I ended up winning 300 Euro!!  Thats 400 bones!  Plus I got to drink free each night.  I have a big welt on my arm where I kept pinching myself to make sure I wasnt dreaming!  Of course, this feeling may not last, Monte Carlo is less than a week away.

Can you tell where the pool ends and the ocean begins?

Besides gambling, I swam, sunbathed, watched sunsets, soaked in the hot tub, worked out, hung out in the sauna and steam room, read "Restaurant At The End Of The Universe", walked on the marina, and played much guitar.  I play a pretty mean Space Oddity now.  I also did lots of thinking at the resort.

I know its strong to state in this way, but I feel as though I became partially enlightened while here.  I was feeling down during a particularly overcast and cold day.  I came to this resort to see the sun and here the days were not cooperating.  I felt even more down.  Then I started to think about my Mom.  I miss her, and as I thought of her, I pondered, what she would think of this day.  I mean, if God said, I will let you go back to Earth, just for this very same day.  Overcast, cold, etc.  What would Mom think? Well, i'll tell you... she'd think it the most beautiful day ever.  The clouds, the wind, the temperature, the bird that flew overhead, the flowers, even the man made building.  I cried. And I felt as if a big weight had been lifted off my shoulder and suddenly I too felt as if this was the perfect day.  Both for me, and Mom.  It was the perfect day.  This and every day is perfect.  And we don't need the gift of rebirth to realize it.  Just perspective.  It's all perspective.

Another thought that is reinforced for me as I type this is that everything happens exactly how its supposed to.  Imagine if I got what I came here for.  That is, sunshine.  No clouds, no rain, no cold.  I would have never had this realization.  Would've never appreciated anything but this so called temperate perfection.  Life unfolds each day exaclty how its supposed to, but if we aren't careful, we miss its meaning.  Or even worse we see one meaning and miss others.  I dont want to miss anything in the short time I have.  Im going to do my best to see it all, with perspective.
