Venice was amazing, and nothing we write could do it justice, and the photos we have taken can not explain how truely amazing it was.

After another long train journey from vienna in austria we arrived around lunchtime. From stepping off the train, we were hit by amazing sunshine and an even more amazing view. Bright blue rivers and canals, filled with fish, and the most crazy architecure ever. The streets were so small and the houses crammed so closely together that you often had to lean right over the water in order to let anyone pass.

We spent our first day just wandering round the island, getting truely lost in the streets. We heard that the street names and direction were meaningless unless you were the official venice postie, and we can totally appreciate this now having been there. We must have walked around for hours and hours not having a clue where we were or where we were going but totally in love with the place.

We stumbled across an area called tha san marco square which is phenomenal! (spelling :p ?) Romantically lit cathedrals and churches, with italian bands playing music in restaurants. I cant begin to explain it so you will all have to wait for the photos, but i really advise going there yourself.

So generally we just walked in venice, but this is definately the thing to do, there is so much to see and the landscape never gets boring. We didnt want to leave, and it is somewhere that we definately plan to go back to.
