So the day starts early and ends late.

I got up at 6:45 and met Carlos to go up the mountain the La Alhambra to see if we can get tickets. Alhambra is a massive tourist attraction. You will see why from the photos. Each day they sell 4000 tickets in advance on the internet (sold out 1 to 2 weeks in advance), and then starting at 08:00 they sell 2000 more.

Long action packed day

The way Alhambra works is that your ticket will have a half hour time period on it, you must show up in that window or else your ticket will not be valid, this is the only time that they will let you in.

So we woke up way to early, walked 45 minutes up an extremely steep hill, and arrived to a queue of about 200 people (at 07:20). We sat and waited till 8, then sat and waited till we got to the ticket window (08:45). We got five tickets for the ealiest time that was available, 14:00 to 14:30!!

We walked back down the mountain and another half hour to the train station. The only train that we could get at a reasonable time was 16:39. This means that we had 2 hours to see Alhambra.

So then we walked around, met Amy and the other two Canadian girls and headed up there.

Alhambra was worth all the effort. It is an incredible old Gypsy city on top of a mountain. It has been immaculately preserved. Incredible detail was put into every piece of their buildings.

We scanned through it. I took 1 GB in photos.

We then headed down to get our bags which we left at Carlos' hostel. Took a cab to the train. Train went to Sevilla. Took the bus to the hostel. 45 minute walk with the packs to get to the hostel from the bus, owie.

The hostel is 1 week old. It is so extremely nice. It is kind of dead though. Free wireless, nice fast PC's, cool kitchen, all super nice!

Then we went of to have Tapas and beer. Went for a walk along the club strip on the river.

On our way home we came upon an incredible procession going through the streets carrying a big thingy with Mary on it etc. It was wild, the musicians were incredible. Very dramatic.

Then home, here I am writing to you now. 02:07 the next day. Maybe these last couple of paragraphs should have been for tomorrows entry?
