Belgium (they speak French, so we got to practice again) was a quick stop for us and we didn't have too much time since we gave a day away to Amsterdam. We choose to go to Brussels and only had a short time since we didn't get in until about 2 pm and had to find a hostel cuz we hadn't booked one yet. For some reason, Brussels liked to HIDE their pay phones. Our packs were VERY heavy at that point so lugging those things around while trying to find a payphone was NO FUN. After finding a hostel randomly (we were trying to call other hostels using their pay phone-we felt dumb), we checked out the chocolate museum – YUM! The museum was boring but we met a “Chocolate Master” who taught us how to make chocolate, specifically pralines. We then attempted to go to the musical instrument museum which was closed so we wandered around Grand Place which was the coolest square we've seen yet with all four sides looking like cathedrals. We saw the peeing boy statue (Mannequin Pis) and got some chocolate from Elisabeth, another Chocolate Master.

After more wandering, we completed another Europe goal: Mussels in Brussels! We got harassed by a billion restaurant greeters but chose a place and had tons of mussels...in Brussels! After this joyful occasion, we went back to our hostel, got some beers and drank them in the Grand Place. I tried to get a waffle with whipped cream and strawberries (language issues got me a crepe-still delicious) and Steph went back to the hostel and met some random Aussie guy and we all went for drinks at this place that has 2003 kinds of beer. We stayed up way too late and of course had an early morning Eurostar train to catch to London(no, we didn't learn)...I also lost my alarm clock in the morning madness.
