We arrived in San Francisco Sunday evening just about the same time as the fog did. The temperature reading on the car had read 102 in the car just before that and now about 61 in the bay area. It was very nice to be cool. We hit a ton of traffic in between Sacramento and here. We were excited to see and stay with Meghan's high school friend Patrick from home. He lives right in the city and a very cool San Francisco style apartment. It is funny because I get this feeling whenever I am coming into San Francisco that I am in some way coming back home. This is by far the greatest city in the United States and we have been looking forward to getting here and hanging out with familiar people like Patrick. He took us out Sunday night to a really cool micro brew place that is located a block away from Height and Ashbury. The strange part about it was that this is the same place that Meg and I had ate at about 2 years ago when we were here. The next day (today) Meg and I walked around fishermans wharf and then walked half way across the Golden Gate bridge before we turned back in fear of a random earthquake. I think we watch too many movies. We also got some fantastic Mexican food this evening in the mission district. I love everything about this city...besides the fact that you have a better chance of seeing the virgin Mary that you do taking a left hand turn in the city in a car. Patrick made our whole stay awesome by being a more than gracious host and tour guiding us around the city. It took us just under seven days and here we are staring at the Pacific ocean and the other end of the United States. Another thing that was cool was that the MLB allstar game is in town this week and all sorts of stuff going on. I did look up tickets for the heck of it, but they were in the $2,000 price range which is about the same price for a pair of Armani pants at the place where Patrick works. All in all it was good to be back "home" in San Francisco and thanks again to Patrick for going above and beyond to show us a good time. It is off to Yosemite national park for a couple of days to relax and spend some time in the woods. hope everyone is well back home. We will update soon.
