We made it to Cambodia!  We're in Siem Reap which is the town that sprung up as a result of all the tourism for Angkor Wat.  We visited a few of the temples this morning and it's pretty cool.  There's a lot to see, just among the temples.  And they each look different depending on the time of day.  We're going back to see more temples this afternoon and maybe tonight, I'll pick the best photos of the day and upload those.

There are a whole lot of Koreans here.  We've seen a bunch of different tour groups here and they've all been Korean.  On the way into town from the airport, there were a bunch of hotels and restaurants that looked like they catered towards Koreans.  There's even a Dae Jang Geum restaurant!  In Cambodia!  I might have seen more Koreans today than Cambodians.

There's even a Dae Jang Geum restaurant!

Also, dollars are more useful here than the Cambodian currancy (riels).  Stupid us.  We got riels at the airport and were charged some commission for that.  And when people ask for payment in dollars, but we only have riels, we get charged more commission.  And I've decided that travellers' checks aren't worth it.  You get charged by your bank, and you get charged when you exchange them.  The risk of stuff getting stolen doesn't seem high enough to balance out all these fees.  Big lesson here:  bring US cash to Cambodia.

Yeah we ended up not spending a single traveler's check in S. America because of the exchange fees. We ended up using them at Costco I think when I got home. Good 'ol Traveler's Checks! What is this Korean restaurant you speak of? Is it Korean BBQ?

Ha ha, Jang Geum is a Korean soap opera set in ancient times and the main character is a woman who goes from being a cook to a doctor to head doctor. It's very popular worldwide. I think you'd like it - lots of cooking scenes and the doctoring scenes are cool and informative. So my guess is that the restaurant serves food like what was in this soap opera.
