World Cup in Leon

Hadn't wanted to spend the World Cup on Roatan and had heard that Leon was a really nice place to spend a few days.  First place I stayed was Via Via, which wasn't that good although I did bump into some friends from Roatan there.  Also bumped into Sam and Rob who were staying at Big Foot hostel.  This place was much better and I moved there the next day for the start of the World Cup.

Went on a walking tour with people from Via Via on my first day in Leon.  Wasn't great.  Not that much of interest to see in Leon (unless you haven't seen churches and old building before)!  Markets were interesting but the town isn't as pretty as Granada (read more about this later).  I don't think it helped that a) the World Cup was on and, b) it rained every day apart from the first for most of the day.

No big screens in Big Foot but a lot of nice people (and possibly the best kitchen I have seen in a hostal so far).  Spent my time in Leon either making fruit salads (was really getting sick of all the fried food in Central America) or watching the World Cup or on the internet or buying ffruit to put into fruit salads.

Sam, Rob and I decided to make our break from Leon on Monday after the Aussie match and head to Granada.
