Smiles, Rice, and Massages

I will never forget the Bali smile. Everyone here has the most incredible smile and they are actually happy to show it to us fair skinned visitors. However, I did not expect Bali to be so hectic. Everywhere we went on the island was thickly populated or a mix of dense agriculture (rice fields) and dense villages. The roads were particularly crazy. Every time we got into our rental car (maybe our first mistake was to rent a car) we were taking our lives into our hands. Everyone seemed to want something from you here, however they were at least very nice about it. Even the moneychangers that scammed Carter gave him his money back when he went and asked for it.

Highlights:

- The Rum Jungle Hotel: Nicest place I have ever paid for myself yet it was on $25 for the both of us.

- Massages by the pool ($3.50 for 1.5 hours) - Bargaining for everything - Great Indonesian food in a posh restaurant for a few bucks. - Bali coffee - Mad Max's tour ( Guy we meet at the beach working a parking attendant) - Monkey Forest - Picturesque terraced rice fields - Sunset at Tenah Lot Temple just off shore
