The trip from Santa Rosalia to La Paz was wonderful. Everywhere in Baja, you can you have views upto 50 km. Whereas the northern part of Baja is very dry (little vegetation), the southern part gets very green. With the same views! The ride along the coast was superb. On the one side the sea with its perfect deep blue colors, on the other side green hills. And butterflies. We met tens of thousands of them. Red, yellow. Sometimes, we even had to slow down as a whole army of these beautiful little creatures were flying above the road. Every time, we crossed a mounain pass, the next view was even more stunning than the valley we just passed. Nice small bays, little villages. Colors. Lots a cactuses as well ;-) Just 30 mins after sun set we crossed the last pass, and could see La Paz with all its lights lying at the horizon. Just another 35 km to go...

We were advised by the american bikers we met in Ensenada to stay in the hotel called "7 stars". When entered the city at 8 pm, drove into the center of town, came on the main boulevard, and just stopped at the first hotel we'd see. Ben checked if they had a room. At the same time, whilst I waited outside, a group of some 30 bikers drove down the boulevard (lots of Harleys :-) ). One guy stopped and invited us for beers and 5 pesos hamburgers at a bar just 4 blocks down the road. So after arranging the room, we went there and were the guests of "Baka bikers". Great guys! We sat down with one of them and were given some travel advice for Mexico mainland fro the rest of trip.

Since it was Saturday night, they all invited us to come over to another bar for drinks. But when we got back to the hotel, the bed was too soft... Sleep at 11pm after a 550 km ride today. Tomorrow will be relax time, we'll stay for some days in La Paz, and will probably have to drive to the BMW-dealer in Cabo San Lucas to get Ben's clutch of the bike looked after. So far 1300 miles down the road... and a few more to go :-)
