I lost over one day with the flight and a 16 hour time difference. I arrived at Incheon International Airport at 8a.m. My flight didn't leave to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) until 7p.m. so I decided to make to most of my day in the city. As soon as I made my way through customs, I went to the tourist info booth and opted for the city tour bus. I exchanged $50 for approximately 5,000 won. It cost 7000 won each way and took about 45 minutes to get to the city. I must admit I was a bit nervous as there wasn’t much English to guide me. All I had in my hand was a paper with the name of the stop I had to get off at (Gwanghwamun) and the bus number to and from the airport. I couldn't communicate with the bus driver in English but he was friendly and helpful as he informed me it was time to get off. I ended up walking a few blocks to find the City Tour Bus stop. For 10,000 won you could hop on and off the bus all day. My time was limited so I had to choose my stops wisely. Some of my day's highlights included: Namsan Seoul Tower, Changdeokgung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the War Memorial of Korea. When it was time to catch the bus, a friendly gentlemen walked me several blocks to the bus station. On the way to the airport, I thought about how lucky I was. Even if I only had one day in Korea, I certainly saw some amazing sites and ran into some friendly people.
