Day 15: DISNEYLAND!!!
From Off to South-east Asia in Cheung Chau, China on Apr 16 '07
We woke up this morning, the weather looked ok (rain had been forecast) so we decided to go to DISNEYLAND!!!!!
We had to catch a 20 min train out to Lan Tau Island, which is where Disneyland is located, and then jump on the Disneyland express!! Right from that moment the whole day really was a magical day in a land full of Disney!! The train had Mickey Mouse shaped windows, was quite plush on polished on the inside, and had little display boxes through each carriage with bronze caracter statues. A grin from ear to ear appeared on my face and didn't leave until we collapsed into bed that night!!

When you get off the train, the approach to the main gates is awesome. They have Zippity Doo Dah blaring over the speakers and you can hear Tinkerbell's chimes and the gardens are perfectly manicured and they have cute little olde England style street lanters, and right at the end, before the gate, is a big Whale fountain with Mickey surfing on top!!
Disneyland is made up of 4 sections, Main Street, Fantasyland, Adventureland and Tomorrowland. We could not believe the attention to detail that has gone into the whole place. Everything was just perfect, not even a stray leaf littered the grounds anywhere and each area really truly immersed you into that type of land!! I can proudly boast that I went on EVERY ride, even the kiddy ones, and we went and saw all the stage show!! The first one we saw blew our minds as it was 3D and to make your senses overload, from the seats in front of you they blasted out air, little squirts of water and even food smells in correspondence with the show. It was just amazing!!
We got there at around 11 am and didn't leave until after the fireworks show at 8pm. We managed to see and do everything there was to do and we were both absolutely exhausted by the time it was time to leave. I got my photo taken with Buzz Lightyear for Ethan, and Troy got his photo taken with Goofy, and some guy in a dog suit (that's his joke, he made me put it in!!).
I felt like the biggest little kid and waved and said hello to all the characters we saw. If we ever come back here, I'm doing it all over again for sure!!!
