Boy was I ever grateful to get out of the cold in London.....only to find more cold in D.C. But I must say that i was excited to be back in the states for about 48 hours. Unfortunately, it made me a little homesick as well.

We took in as many of the sights as possible in one day! My friend Christy was super awesome to let us stay with her on such late notice. We got to live like the D.C. interns for a couple of days.

I was really thrilled to attend Senator Dianne Feinstein´s breakfast. Rach helped me work up the guts to talk to her. I told her i was an intern for her in SD and that i was going to Stanford (when she was my age she had to choose between Berkeley and Stanford for law school too!...she chose stanford). She was really excited...she held my face like my grandma. Really funny. She also said i could come work for her in DC anytime. Sweet.

We also did the typical stuff. Tour of the capital. Visited all the war memorials (which is incredibly difficult). So many names. So many lost lives. I loved the city though. Felt a little out of place in our asia garments in a black suit type place. I must admit that im glad im not in that stage of my life yet. We also went to a networking mixer. Good stuff. Keeping my career options open.

The only thing we didnt see was Gore testify about global warming. Too many people. All in all i enjoyed D.C. but i couldnt live there. I walked around Arlington cemetary by myself and tried to imagine being a student in the city. I decided it was a no go. But the natural history museum was great! Saw dinosaurs and the hope diamond!
