Day 43  Ao Nang - Koh Pha-nang

Another long day travelling. Took us 15 hrs to cross tro the east coast by bus and ferry, and all for one day! Crazy chicks are us!  The over night ferry to koh Pha-ngann was an experience. dont dotn wqhy it took 7hrs when it only took 2 on the way back,. Must have went the scenice route at night eh!  Anyways when we got on board we went up to the deck and there were no seats, just a whole load of matresses laid out with numbers on them. There was not enough space for everyone as the matresses were really skinny. I ended up sleeping top tp tail with Lauar. Was scared to roll over incase i bumped into the guy lying next to me. it was also freezing on the ferry as all the windows were wide open brrrhh.  Needless to say i never slept a wink.  Eventually made it to KP at 6am.   got a tuk tuk to Hat Rin. That where the half moon party is held.  Unfortunately nothing was opened, so we had to wait until 8am to find a bed for the night!  Was funny watching all the stragglers from the night before stoating about!

our room was ok and very central which was handy. Hoever there was a hugemungous cockroach in our bedroom! We called one of the labourers outside and he came and scooped it up in his hands- eewwww!  We tried to get some sleep but was too noisy so headed out to the beach. Another nice beach. It wasnt too warm either so chilled otu for a few hours and watched all the bars setting up for the party later on.

We had our last thai meal. i opted for Thail curry and yummy it was ;o)  We went back to our room and got ready for our big night out.  it was a great night too, too good in fact!  Sat on the beach watching the fire dancers for a bit whilst we sipped or cocktails. Then we walked along the beach and there were loads of stalls set up selling buckets full of alcohol Teh buckets were the ones you use to make sandcastles and they got filled up with 1/4 bottles of spirts and mixer. It was so funny. we went for the Thai whiskey. it's so much nicer than Scottish whiskey(hang my head in shame), taste like southern comfort ;o)  We had a few buckets and then hit the dancefloor where there were people covered in fluorescent paint dancing around, Was such a  good night, so good that we never got in until 6am and our tuk tuk was waiting to take us to the ferry! Yikes! typical that the time we are late is the time they are on time!  Had to grab our rucksack and jump into the tuk tuk in our party gear! Ha ha what a sight we were!  2 days without any sleep and another 15hr journey a head of us- fun fun fun!

Our bus to Penang(Malaysia) turned out to be a mini bus!! The air con was not working and it was stiffling hot!  Luckily we got through the borders with no probs but we ended up getting into Georgetown 2 hrs later, than expected. Was 10pm and we had to find a room. The 1st 4 rooms we tried were diabolical!  eventually we found a nice air con room and plumped for that and plumped right into bed 72hr with no sleep no wonder were were zombified!zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
