Another late dtart (notice a trend!) and set off from hostel at 11.30 we walked up Van Ness Ave then took a left at Geary St and walked pass the Japan centre. We followed Geary St for ages up and down loads of hills until we reached 34 Ave where we walked passed Lincoln Park Golf Course and up Legion of Honour Drive to the 'Palace'. We were quite high up here and the weather was windy and quite cold, meaning Meg was freezing even with a fleece jacket on, Andy was warm enough in just his shorts and t-shirt! From here we could see e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! (well the Golden gate Bridge with the low clouds covering its top). We sat here and ate lunch and then followed the coastal path passed Lands End, Seal Rocks (no seals!) and Cliff House before coming round to Ocean Beach. We then went into Golden Gate Park (largest man made park in the world). We walked through the entire park (3 miles) but really didnt think much of it as it appeared abit run down and there was not much there to see or do. In the park we did sit by Stow Lake where Meg had a hot choc and Andy ate a banana that was about it! We left the park and followed Oak St then onto Van Ness Ave past City Hall and up to Cala foods (supermarket) where we got a tub of cookie dough Ben & Jerrys ice cream to reward ourselves for our mamoth walk. We eventually got back to the hostel at 7.15pm ate dinner and the ice cream and rested our aching limbs! We worked out in total that we must have walked at least 13 miles today!
