Well we did it...took the plunge...seized the day...grasped the nettle...and a million other idioms I can't quite think of right now. That's right - we booked the first international leg of our 'Odd'yssey.
So at 7pm on Tuesday, 10 April 2007 (just after the Easter Weekend) you will find a pair of very eager, VERY carefully packed (and probably VERY overpacked) travellers boarding flight SA220 at the Cape Town International Airport. A mere hop skip and a jump (10 hours of hopping, skipping and jumping actually) we touch down at London's Heathrow Airport and officially get the journey underway!
Two One-Way Tickets Booked - No Turning Back Now
Have to say that the flights were quite painless to reserve - 26 000 SAA Voyager miles each (since they are 1 way) and just over R1300 in taxes... feeling very fiscally responsible :)
The fact that the tickets are now booked (on one of those hugely restricted - can't change your weight let alone your dates fares) is something of a relief. There really is no turning back now - so we are defintely going, and its all a question now of making it work.
