It's a little overwhelming when you first get here. I've seen pictures and movies with Rome in it, however, until you stand next to some of these buildings and scuptures..you truely have no idea what an awesome accomplishment of man this really is! Some of these monuments are so massive and so detailed. For the last number of years I thought Vancouver was pretty amazing when it came to buildings and such, however, I had no idea that this stuff existed.
When you walk through the streets here there is a feeling of establishment. A type of honor and courage that radiates through the arcutecture. Everything is a feast for the eyes. I want to take pictures of it all...but it's one of those things, where do I begin, how do I do it justice?

Couple things, the cabbies here are just, if not more, crazy as the ones in New York, also, so are the regular DRIVERS! Sometimes when I watch them drive around there just doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason why they go they way they do! Our cab from the Airport (which may I add to Chris's demise, cost us 85 Euros, 100$ CND) ended up trying to go up a one way street, and then proceeded to do a reverse in the middle of traffic! Those worse driver shows....they're real!
Found the hotel after some extra 20Euros on the meter....a cabbie that knows the area is much more helpful when you've never been here before! The hotel....from the street, it looks very small, however, it's a beautiful hotel, with amazing service and great comfort. (Its also bigger then the 20x10 room in New York!) We have a nice double door that opens up into a cute courtyard. The location of the hotel is awesome! We are a two min walk from the three main shopping streets of Rome! (Chris isn't too happy about that ;) ) But I've been good, and resisted spending money, so far ;)

Rome is a little deceiving, when you go for a walk, there is so much to look at along the way, and next thing you know you've been walking for 45mins...and now you have to walk back! :S
Tonight we're off to take a bunch of night time pictures of the fountains and the local sites. I can't wait to show you all!
