Tough view to wake up to.

Barcelona – Villefranche

We arrived at the “Brilliance of the Seas” early and proceeded to board with ease. There didn’t seem to be too many people so we were on board in no time. Our rooms were not ready until later in the afternoon so we proceeded to the bar (of course) where we had a few drinks and met a couple from the states.

Geoff managed to loose his glasses so all he had left was his sunglasses so I was leading him around saying “blind man coming through” !!

The evening was relatively quite with most of the people on board doing their own thing – we were surprised at the amount of people on board and were told on more than one occasion that the cruise was full although we think different.

We missed our sitting for dinner as we left dock at 7.00 pm and didn’t want to miss out on anything. The cruise liner certainly can push through the waves with ease and you would not know that you are moving at all.

The sun does not set until really late of an evening around 10.00 pm so that makes for a fun filled day in the Mediterranean sun!

I didn’t sleep well on the first night – was so excited to actually be here and be looking forward to the coming days.

We arrived in Villefranche this morning at about 9.00 am and awoke to a beautiful setting overlooking the hills. This area is one of the well known playgrounds of the rich and famous and not to mentioned tanned. I have been told that the water here is as warm as 25 degrees so will let you know if I venture in if it is that warm!

Our tour today does not leave until after lunch so we are heading up to the pool where we plan to laze in the sun until it is time for us to catch the tender over to the mainland. We are going to visit Nice and Eze so stay tuned!!
