Lucina, her boyfriend Cesar, Karla, Liz, Jen and I went off early (by Mexican standards- 10am!) one Saturday morning to Manzanillo. Karla drove us so it was nice and quick and we got there in time for "brunch."

After a trip to the supermarket (see great photo of Lucina and Cesar) we checked into our hotel (right in the centre of Manzanillo) and went down to the pool. We tried to use the nicer looking one but we were turned away being told that it wasn't for Mexicans and only for the Canadians that were staying at the hotel. Instant outrage- descrimination of Mexicans in their own country!!! Liz tried the tactic that they had an English girl (and a Welsh sheep) in their group, but it didn't work. We were relegated to the other pool which was smaller, had next to no chairs/sunbeds and smelt.

After eating in our appartment Karla drove us to a bar but you had to pay to get in- v rude- so we decided not to. We went to a club called Nautilus which was huge with lots of 15 year olds buying bottles of tequila and vodka to share. The music was electronica so didn't participate in any dancing but watched the 15 year olds getting drunk.

The next day we went to the beach which was beautiful... even more beautiful after we cracked open a few beers... zzzzz....
