Nicks story)

Next stop was Cape Town which is quite probably the most beautiful city in the world. We went up Table Mountain on a perfect day, had a day around the Cape of Good Hope and a day at District 6 and Robben Island. We ate each night at the Water Front and loved the whole place. Table Mountain was a complete surprise with views of the Cape (no, not Cape Cod) and of the city. We stayed up there for 4 hours but could have stayed for days enjoying walks and views. The city is also incredibly clean and beautiful. It is also quite small and many great houses with views of the ocean....and so cheap after Boston and LA. There was something special about the Cape and the area where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. We had a meal overlooking the Indian Ocean and watched whales jumping and fended off baboons wanting to eat our food. District 6 and Robben Island (FREE MANDELA!) were honest reminders of apartheid and the discrepancies between the different races on South Africa. The racial aspect of life in South Africa is still very obvious and one that no doubt I will think more about in the near future.
