An English Alien, Lost

Here is just a basic start to my R & R trip to Portugal where my girlfriend is living as she can´t get a visa into England. So I get to go to the sunny streets of Coimbra and drink cold beer and eat great food. Gosh darn it. Of all the bad luck.

Coimbra is really just a large hill with a great old university atop of it and orange roofed houses crowding the slopes down to the winding river that runs through the city. It´s a student city so in August, which is now for me, there is not a huge throng around. Most of the students go on their holidays back home and the people you´ll see are tourists. And probably German. Seem to get a lot of German´s in Coimbra. Can´t see why. The Portuguese have enough trouble with an Englishman speaking English. God knows how they´ll deal with a German speaking English.

Found an Irish pub here. No Irish people and only two stouts.

This was my first real photo I took with my new camera. Thought it came out real nice.

Many more entries to come but my girlfriend (Paula) has given me a digital camera for my birthday just gone and I went trigger happy. Wild horses can´t stop me from capturing everything onto my Fujifilm A300. Here are a few snaps. Let me know what you think.
