Week 10! It's been quite a busy time adjusting to family life. Daisy continues to amaze and reward us with more and more interaction everyday. We've seen many many smiles, gurgle, cooing sounds and of course ear-splitting screams! She has turned out to be a well-mannered little lady, who likes to be held and doesn't mind being passed around strangers (well everyone is from her point of view!). We have become comfortable with travelling to see family and friends as she enjoys the motion of the car (but persecutes us if we drop below 35 mph!). We have also managed many afternoon coffee & cakes meets in public places without any bother.

Conker has taken the drop in attention as well as could be expected, he is no longer the centre of attention and is jealous of Daisy being allowed to sit on the dinner table! He has become ultra-attention seeking and has now become more of a lap sitter than he ever was.

Daisy has been kindly gifted many hand knitted jumpers, hats, boots & jackets by family. Which she is modelling in many of the photos on this blog. She is also very lucky to have been gifted and handed down so many beautiful clothes from friends and family. Of course most people have played safe and gone for oversize so she will be even better dressed when she reaches the 3-6 month size! It is a good thing that she has an extensive wardrobe, she has got into the routine of storing up the good stuff and exploding spectacularly after a couple of days. Leaving dijon mustard stains on many outfits!

Striking a work/life balance has been tricky. Teaching is quite a high workload profession and in a new school doubly so. I rush home from work to spend some time with Claire & Daisy before reluctantly retiring upstairs to prepare for the next day. Claire is adjusting full-time motherhood and being a single mum during the week! (teachers widow!). We both can't wait for the weekends and holidays to spend time together as a family.
We had an excellent christmas break and introduced Daisy to all the members of our families; splitting our time between Sheffield, Cambridge and Leeds. We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as we can in 2009. We hope you had a Merry Xmas and a Great New Year Celebration (or Hogmannay to the Scots)!!!
