Another sensational day greeted the boys as we saddled up again. Our ride today was from the town of Villers-Cotterets to the river side town of Nogent-Sur-Seine. We headed out of town and straight away into corn/maize fields which stretched to the horizon and beyond. And that was the story of the day; an incredible amount of spectacular farmland. Very labour intensive though; saw one old man weeding (by hand) his 6-8 acre block of lettuces. Went through the beautiful town of Charly where we saw our first vineyard of the tour. Stopped for a photo with the entire south facing hillside covered by grapes. In town, every second building seemed to contain a outlet for a Champagne label! Heaven awaits for another trip. Tempted as we were we carried on. Started descent into Nogent and saw two nuclear cooling towers in distance. Took photo but didnt need to; they were about 1km from our camping ground! Finished in good shape. Andy took the honours after trailing Nev all day. The bugger but true to label if nothing else. Total was 112km in 4 hrs 43m. Andy has bit of a cold but otherwise we are in reasonable shape.
