Back from the trek

Once the trek was finished we got a taxi (organised by Dev) from Phedi back into Pokhara.  With only 1 night to spend we decided it would be best not to go near the bed in our hotel in case we slept right through again so we went out for a bit of sightseeing instead.

The area we stayed in is known as lakeside and is where all the tourists/trekkers/backpackers hang out.  There were loads of shops selling souviners and even more selling trekking kit so after a quick look around these we headed down to the lake.  It was very pretty down there although there were lots of people trying to sell things to the tourists so we didn't stay for long.

Back at the hotel it was time for a well-deserved shower to finally wash away all the trekking grime.  We took our guide out for dinner, he reccommended a place by the lake which had some traditional Nepali music and dancing.  It was a good choice, the food was excellent, the entertainment was interesting and Alan had his first Jack Daniels and Coke since we'd left the UK.  We went to a bar after dinner for a drink, it had a dreadful band playing but they did give us free popcorn.  Still tired from the trek and mindful that we had to make the 7hr trip back to Kathmandu the next day we opted for an early night and headed back to the hotel after just one drink (yep, we're officially lightweights!)
