As we had both recently been to Bangkok together we chose Hong Kong as our compulory Asian transfer point. Rob was excited to show Angela his old stomping grounds, but it seemed the ravages of time and the savages of HK construction, played havoc with his ability to recall; "Err that place was cool before it became a Starbucks", "umm I lived there - I think" ..... Come on 8 years is a long time and alot changes during that period in HK. Repeat alot. Luckily we still had the Lonely Planet to guide us. Strueth!

Thanks to the generosity of Rob's Aunt we stayed at her place during our 4 days in HK and she was a gracious and pleasant host. Honkers like LA is not a place to be watching your budget when travelling the world on a wing and a prayer (so to speak).
Angie at times found the population and its density overwhelming, but thats the point isn't it. So we escaped the crowds the only way Rob remembered how to in HK - we watched the new Batman movie.
