Another day, another plane trip. After a good night of sleep, we had no trouble getting up at 6am (which was 6pm our time ;)). Then on to the airport, where we flew China Eastern to the city of Nanchang, Jianxi. The flight was pretty uneventful and went relatively fast. The food was interesting: we were given a choice between rice or noodles, with no indication that one came with shrimp and the other one with fish. Funky pickles tasted pretty good, though.
We got to the hotel in Nanchang pretty quickly. Emotions were running high, as all the families were about to meet with the babies. The afternoon seemed to take forever, but finally 6pm arrived. We all went into a room where the babies were being held by nannies, and one by one they were transferred to their parents. Some babies took well to it, some were pretty shocked with the whole thing. There was a fair amount of screaming and crying, but in the end most babies went to their rooms fairly calm. C&K's babies both did very well, acting more curious than scared. They are both very beautiful and sweet, and both seem in good health. You can tell that they're twins, when one would start crying, the other one would extend her hand out to try to soothe her. They are very very CUTE, and we have lots of pictures and video of the first meeting. Both girls seemed fascinated with their parent's faces, we were warned that they would be curious about our "big" noses, but they seemed more interested in the chins, constantly grabbing or patting them.
There was a fair amount of screaming and crying....
Both girls are doing well. The parents as well. It sounds pretty overwhelming, especially since one of them seems pretty talented in the screaming department. She also seems to be the strong willed one, and makes the most amusing faces. The other sister seems very calm and quiet, has beautiful big eyes and is always taking everything in. Both girls seem to be adapting to their new environment quite well, and the new parents are doing a great job of getting them acquainted with their new world.
