Another one to add to the map...got an overnight bus on the 25th to Santa Rosalia as it sounded like quite a nice place according to the Lonely Planet guide, and we thought it would break up the journey to La Paz! The overnight bus was actually really comfortable and played English speaking films the whole time.
Organising the bus was the first time we'd communicated only in Spanish, and we managed pretty well! The people here are very patient and didn't wince at our attempts hehehe! The bus went through one of the two deserts in Baja California, and it was so bizarre to see vast stretches of land with nothing but Cactuses (Cactii?!) and giant birds. It was nice to see the Sea of Cortez when it finally appeared!

Arrived in SR early the next morning, and we weren't too keen on sticking around. A bit of a 'local town for local people'...but it was good to see a genuine Mexican town unspoilt by tourists! Met an American who had come down a few years ago to live on his boat here. Not quite sure what else he does, but he seems pretty content with his lot. jodie thinks this sounds like a good life :o)
Made it to the ATM which was BROKEN so had a wee panic, but then remembered we'd got traveller's cheques so cashed some there. Made it on the next bus out of SR destined for La Paz...be warned, Mexican time means wait at the bus station 'til a bus arrives rather than go by what's on your ticket haha!
