Tuesday April 15th Salzberg

Slept in. Got to Dave & Jo’s hotel around 11:45 am. Took them to the train station, where they were off to Milan for the furniture Expo. Took bus out to Hellbrun Schloss and the trick water fountains. It is funny to think of people wandering through the gardens and even sitting down to lunch only to be saturated by a host with a wicked sense of humour. Hope he only did it in summer. Kate wasn’t that impressed with getting wet on a coolish day. We have discovered that she has a strong aversion to the cold. Took bus back to pick up camper and went out of town to go up the Mount Untersburg. We went up in a cable car about 2000m. 2/3 of the way up we were into the clouds. It was freezing up top -5oC. We wandered about in the snow and threw a few snowballs. Read about the animals that live on the mountain as well as the giant that is meant to sleep there.
