We were really excited to actually see the condition of the boat that we would call home for the next 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised. The boat had a shade cloth over the majority of it and under that was a massive mattress. There was a sail to catch the wind and a tiny cabin to put our food and luggage etc. So we pulled up a spot and that was pretty much where we stayed for the next few days. We met our Nubian crew led by a man named Honeymoon. These men were responsible for providing us with food and drink throughout the trip as well as actually sailing the boat (apart from when David took over).

It was a great experience sailing on the Nile. When it was hot you could just dip your legs in the cold waters. When you were thirsty you could just grab some water or a beer. And when you needed the toilet you could just find a bush and hope that some local on a donkey didnt catch you. We were fed great food and got to know the rest of our tour group really well. At night we pulled up a piece of riverbank and were able to watch locals playing some soccer (too hot for us) or we just relaxed in the waters of the Nile. The last night was spent around the fire with some Nubian music and dancing. The 2 boat groups had some challenges set out for us and it was Meagans belly dancing that let our group down (It was the most amusing though). It was about this time that our stomachs started to make some bizarre noises and this signalled the beginning of a rough patch for us.
