We arrived at Hamilton around lunch time, and, with kick off at 1935 hrs, we relaxed for a while. Tracey gave me (Joe) a lift into town around 1830 hrs, and I got the free bus to the Westpac Stadium, where the Chiefs were to take on the Reds. I picked up my ticket and bought a program, and four beers before settling into my seat. There was a bit of pre match entertainment in the form of a man dressed as a Koala getting beaten up by the Waikoto Mafia. Then kick off. It was a good game with Chiefs scoring three tries in the first half, leaving the score 24-10. At half time there was a game of british bulldogs with the local uni guys taking part. Also, as it was ANZAC day weekend, an armoured vehicle and 6 soilders put on a display. Also the game was sponsered by the NZ police, who drove around the perimeter in a police car. Second half got under way, and the reds came back into the game a little before the Chiefs scored again and left it out of reach. Final score 32-20 to the Chiefs.

Tracey picked me up at the meeting point near the ground and we went back for a beer. very enjoyable night.
