We’ve just stopped in Charlottesville, VA. We are now about five minutes ahead of schedule. It’s a rainy day outside and I fear it will be the same in D.C. I should know for sure in about three hours.

I’ve never heard such noises as he was emitting

The darkness got the best of me and I nodded off and slept for about an hour at a time over the course of the night. I had my music playing to try to lull my mind into to staying asleep, but it had to compete with the snoring sounds around me. Namely from a man sitting behind me. I’ve never heard such noises as he was emitting. I think the whole car was being kept awake.

Some points of interest I saw during the night: a gas station in South Carolina that had unleaded for $2.19. And America draws closer to breaking the $2.00 barrier. The inside of the bathroom. It was just like an airplane, nothing new here, besides standing up and walking around for the first time in nine hours.

The sun is up now, so I’m watching for interesting landscape this last leg of the journey. I’m also hoping to connect to wireless at each station while we wait for passengers to get on. Nothing so far.

Whoop! Whoop! You're on your way! It's fun reading your entries. I picture you sitting in the train, writing and just waiting for the next stop so you can get wireless and upload your next entry. Did you bring movies, books and music galore for the trip? I hope you can get some sleep, and enjoy your time in DC!

Snore noise prevention tip #584: Kleenex from the bathroom makes for good on the spot ear plugs. Or in a pinch you can use some toilet paper just remember to throw away the first couple sheets on the roll so you don't put someones poop in your ears.
