Kaikora - Fantastic seafood and fantastic roads to drive..

OntoNelson, a nearby town which boasts to receive more sunshine than anywhere else in NZ. Nice town, felt back to civilisation again and back onto the beaten track for a day which was nice.

We hired bikes as neither wanted to be a designated driver, I’m over tours, and well, let’s face it, doesn’t wine tasting by bike sound like fun?! Yes, we thought so too! At least Jon was there to be sensible enough to remind me we’re “back onto the main roads again now Rach, will you be ok?” (Anyone who knows me knows how much of a lightweight i am on wine). We tasted lots of beautiful wines, Sauv.Blancs were my favourite from the region!

Successfully managed to ride back with a bottle for that night but took the car back around the next day to stock up for the road trip (I’m drinking one v nice Pinot Noir as I write this, yum!)
