Even the signs on the road expressed their feelings about how horrible this passage is. Just read it and see if you can catch it.

After 12 hours on a bus going through the Ruta 40 (the most boring road in the world) we arrived at Los Antiguos. The reason the ride is so boring is because it goes through the Argentinean Pampas (miles and miles of shrubs in every direction on a dirt road). The only other option we had was to go back through Rio Gallegos and then to Bariloche, but we chose to go this way to get back into Chile faster. Since this region of Chile lacks any passage for the backpacker (meaning, you need your own car) we had no other options than to suffer the never ending Pampas. Los antiguos is a great little town and a great place to say goodbye to Argentina.
