Cold and cloudy all day. A few hills to keep me warm, but mostly I pressed through to Redmond so I could find a place to stop and thaw out. Found a cute new cafe and made myself comfortable with a pot of tea and the fastest Mississippi steamboats. An hour later I was back on the road going west toward the pass. I just had to make it to Sisters where I could thaw out again. When I did get there I found a bakery with a place to spread out my maps and analyze my last few hundred miles. With the added advice of some locals, I decided to pack it in there in town where I could stay indoors instead of pushing further up the mountain to camp in the cold. A good move I think. Longer day tomorrow, but the lure of the Willamette valley should motivate me.
