Hello From Reutte

We had a beautiful drive from Munich to Reutte. The fall colors have changed since the two weeks that we were here before. The majority of the day was spent at Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. Both were “Mad” King Ludwig’s dwellings. He grew up in Hohenschwangau and only lived in Neuschwanstein for 142 days….before his mysterious death. Neuschwanstein is the proverbial fairytale castle…it is the one that Disney used as a model for the Cinderella Castle. Both were amazing and well preserved. All the interior was original from the 1700’s. After seeing the castles, we spent a little time in Reutte at St. Jakob’s church and cemetery.
