  • Got up early 6:30am
  • Made tea in the kitchen
  • Went to the train station and met up

    with Kevin

  • Bought a chocolate croissant and

We count the stops and when we get to the stop we think we should be at Fussen we’re not.

    fresh squeezed oj

  • Got on first train: short ride
  • The scenery was beautiful, we

started going through the sections of trees that were frosted white.

  • Switched to second train
    • Asked for info at info desk: the

      lady spoke English

    • Kevin disappears to go look at who

      knows what, some xmas tree

  • We have assigned seating on this

train. Josie and I have seats across from each other next to the window.

Well everyone was trying to get on the same car as we were so Josie

decides we can get on at the other end of the car. The problem turned out

to be that we then had to haul our luggage through the entire car to where

our seats were, right at the other door. Then we had no place to put our

luggage and had to lift it above our heads to store it.

  • We worked on our homework for most

of the way because we have stupid exams right when we get back to Bradford. I’m really disliking the British school

system, why would they have exams after break????

  • Well just before Munich Josie and I

get off to switch trains to go to Fussen. Kevin stays on as he is heading

to Munich and then up to Berlin and to a ship further north.

  • Well at this station, we attempt to

read the timetable and pick a train that is going to where we want to go. We

had some issues getting on the train. Our bags are really heavy and we

each have a suitcase and a backpack, plus I was carrying the snow chains

for the car. So we get on the train to find that there is no place to

store our bags. We find a place to sit next to this German man and woman.

They have the two window seats so

we each sit next to one of them. We shove our carry bags under the table and

block the aisle with our other huge bags. There wasn’t any other option

that I could see. A few stops after we get on a man beyond where we were

says, “now we have a problem.” Apparently he had to get off. Well that was

fine I was just going to roll one bag out then let him back out and then

    roll it back in.

  • We count the stops and when we get

to the stop we think we should be at Fussen we’re not. I’ve got my maps

out trying to figure out where we are, which places we’ve passes and if

we’re on the right train. At one stop we ask the man and woman if this

train was going to Fussen, they tell us that we should get off at the next

    stop.

  • So at the next stop we haul our bags

off. This is time number 4.

  • Josie runs down the stairs and asks

how we can get to Fussen. We have to haul our bags down the stairs and

haul them up another flight and then back on to a train.

  • So we count the stops to the train

station we’re supposed to get off at. Josie has a print out of all the

platforms so we don’t have to worry about figuring that out once we get

there. Then the door doesn’t open. We pressed the door open button, but it

doesn’t open. So we watch our stop go by.

  • We get off at the next one and ask.

There’s a train coming that’s headed to Fussen. We wait for that one.

  • Finally we get to Fussen. We’re

staying at the Hotel Kurcafe for Christmas. We got this package deal for

Christmas that pretty much included everything we’d need and for what we

thought was a reasonable price. We found the hotel so easily. It’s right

near the train station about a block away.

  • By the time we get there at like 5pm

we’d been travelling for 12 hours almost.

  • Check in at front desk
  • Go around the building, outside, to

    get to elevator.

  • Go up to room. Amazing!
  • Sparkling water and fresh backed

    cookies on little table

  • Beds made cute
  • Bathroom

    spectacular---- heated floor!

  • We take turns taking showers and

    getting ready for dinner.

  • Watch trash on MTV
  • Go down to dinner
    • I had the pork with a mushroom

      sauce on noodles

    • Also had grilled vegetables
    • Very very good
    • Had soup to start with: white

      tomato cream

    • Dessert was lemony creamy ice

      cream with fresh fruit

    • Served us a welcome cocktail with

      heart toothpick

  • Hearts were everywhere
    • Revered ticket
    • Centrepiece
    • Drink
    • Plates
  • After dinner we go back to the room

and watch some more tv and read for a bit before going to bed.
