From German to French yet still in the same Country
From Catch up! in Geneva, Switzerland on Aug 06 '07
The next morning, I was up early to catch a train to Geneva, about 3 hours south and west of Baden. It was more confusing than I wouldæve liked. Fortunately the ticket attendant on the train was kind enough to inform me in English that I couldn't make the transfer I wanted to due to problems at the station and had to take another route. After a few minutes of wandering around the next station in confusion and not finding any English speaking soles, I figured out where I needed to be and was back on track. I got to Geneva around noon and made my way to the hostel to get rid of my bag. Once ready to go, I set out to see the city. First on my list was the UN. I made it there, but then couldn't figure out where I was suppose to go in to take a tour and ended up having to follow a Dutch couple. The tour was neat, reminded me of the things I learned about it in High school and I got to see the important rooms and such.

Done there, I the Dutch couple then allowed me to follow them to the ferry to take it back to town. It was still nice outside. Lake Geneva is really pretty and there is one massive jet fountain that is one of the main attractions of the city.
Once we finally reached the land, we parted ways as I was off to find my old church in old town, something I intended to do in all my stops. Of course this is when my days of walking around in the rain began. But I wasn't going to let that stop me. I had my rain coat and figured I'd be fine. I made my way to the church, took my pictures and then wandered around the old town a bit more. Never seen so many H&M's in one street before...at least until I got to Bergen. I found a pub to eat at. I ordered Spaghetti and the man brings it out with a huge plastic bib and puts it on me. There just had to be a few army boys at the end of the pub and I was a wee bit embarrassed! Should've taken a picture really. But I guess he does this for everyone that orders pasta as he did the same for some other ladies. Much to my embarrassment, the bib was quite useful I found...

Tired of being wet and cold, I headed back to the hostel where I had an uneventful night.
