Wine tasting in Sonoma

We really enjoyed our brief stop at a ´Sideways´ winery just north of Santa Barbara, but as we were passing through more wine regions as we travelled north we thought it would be rude not to stop.

We eschewed the more famour Napa region in favour of the younger Sonoma area, where one particular vineyard - Benziger - was a real highlight. The family-run winery specialises in cabernets and uses biodynamic methods to grow its wine. Better than that though was the touristy tour on an electric ´tram´which had a lively guide and took in the rolling vines and the pressing area.
