Our Nation's Capital = Maggie's friends

Our stay in DC (for nearly a week) was a fun, low-key one. We saw a bunch of Maggie’s friends, ate some yummy dinners, went to a few museums (though not as many as we’d originally planned), and went on a tour of the Capitol with Anna’s friend Erin who’s a Hill staffer. Besides friends, Maggie was able to catch up with a few of her favorite professors and get the GW scoop.
Our Nationals game in Washington at the end of the week began with our very first rain delay of the trip. With steady rain all night, they played a 13-inning game and lost to the Atlanta Braves. All of our friends stuck around for the whole affair, even when the concessionaires had left and all we could get to eat were other people’s leftover peanuts. RFK Stadium is pretty lousy…one of the worst in the Majors. Our game there was part of the very last homestand in RFK because next year they’ll move into a shiny, new park across town. It should be great, but anything would be better than what they have now. Despite it all, we had a blast (…of course! It’s baseball!)
