Day 2 - A Day at Disneyland
From 2007 Hawkins' Family Vacation Blog in Disneyland, United States on Jul 21 '07
Greetings -
Our original goal was to head to Disneyland on Monday with the hopes for smaller crowds, however since my cousin Faye was bringing her kids down from San Francisco today and she couldn't go on Monday we went this Sunday morning. Yes, the stories about the crowds are true. Laneshia, Jadin, Aria and I headed straight to Mickey's Toon Town and even though we didn't get into the park until after 10 am this part was not overly crowded but that changed slowly over the next 2 hours. By Noon it was noticeabley more crowded. I had been to Disneyland three times but this was my first in this part of Disneyland and it was really cool. Great details in all the buildings and background.
Note to self: Disney ride lines get a lot shorter at 11pm at night!

We left Mom, Dad and Travis' family back at the hotel. Mom, Dad and Shaunette eventually caught up with us close to Noon. We caught up with Travis' family and my cousin Faye after 3pm at It's a Small World and then we spent most of the afternoon in Fantasyland.
We eventually headed back towards the center of the Park after 5 pm and took a wonderful family picture in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle - check it out.
Laneshia and I along with Travis' family (minus Ayden) and Shaunette went to ride Indiana Jones ride using fast pass - what a rush!

My immediate family exited Disneyland and went across the way to Disney California Adventure Park using our ParkHopper ticket. The Kids enjoyed the Bugs Life play area - this park was way less crowded then Disneyland and their was not waiting for any of the rides that we got on - Wow!
The temperature drops pretty fast after dark and Laneshia doesn't do cold well. Her and Aria were ready to go - so we left the parks around 9 to get back to Hotel.
Since I'm the roller coster fanatic, I headed back out to Disney to meet up with Shaunette and Travis and his family who were still hanging... well sort of - Ayden and Kinser were sleep, but Garret was still kicking it. My parents left by this time as well. But the rest of us road a few more rides until Midnight when the park closed. Note to self: Disney ride lines get a lot shorter at 11pm at night!
