Day 7: Depart Bali, or Extra Time = Fun Day Trips

If today is your last day in Bali, Fly out of Denpasar. If you are staying in South or Central Bali you should have at most an hour-and-a-half drive to the airport.

  • Pura Taman Ayun – Garden temple in Mengwi

  • Pura Tanah Lot – Small temple dramatically situated on an island

  • Pura Meduwe Karang – Notable for its intricately carved panels and stone statues

  • Taman Nasional Bali Barat – National park with mangroves, wetlands and indigenous flora and fauna such as the Sambar deer and Bali starling.

• Lombok – Javanese, Hindu and Islamic influences characterize this less developed, smaller island to the east. Most visitors ferry over for the lovely beaches, trekking, diving, game fishing and wind surfing

• I don’t recommend travel to Sumatra, Sulawesi, or West Timor due to political and religious unrest

• Although there have been bombings in Jakarta and the active volcano Mt. Merapi erupted in May 2006, we do still send clients to Java, just keep them near Borobodur.
