An easy today, relaxing at the apartment and coffee near the park. Afterwards we drove out of town towards Samobor and stopped to eat yummy Cevapi (pronounced Chevapi or Chevapchichi) a speciality of the Balkans.
Cevapi found its way into Bosnian cuisine via the Ottoman Empire who in turn picked it up from Arabic cultures around Persia. There are various versions of the same dish all across the Slavic peninsula from Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia & Croatia, all of which lay claim to the fact that theirs are better than all the rest.. ..be the judge yourself and taste a few of the various styles on your next travels in this region.

You can read more about Cevapi here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cevapi
TRIVIA: In Bulgaria cevapi are much longer & thicker (about the size of a thin cucumber!) than those generally found in Croatia, Bosnia & Serbia. So when asked for how many pieces you wish to eat, make sure you ask for only 1 or 2 because if you ask for 5-7 pieces (as you normally would in Croatia!) you will be eating cevapi for days!
